17 Days Turkey Tour

The 17 Days Turkey Tour begins in Istanbul, where we will see the most major sites of Constantinople’s earlier glory. We will get about the battles attacked in Turkey by hitting Gallipoli, Dardanelles and Canakkale. Explore Troy, and the remains left over from the Trojan, War. Walk through the Biblical city of Ephesus; we will see the white limestone waterfalls of Pamukkale. We will visit the Castle at Bodrum then continue beside the coast and visit the ruins at Xanthos and Patara to get more about the great history of this region. We will visit Demre, place of St. Nicholas, and then fill a relaxing afternoon by the Mediterranean as we take in the rich past of Antalya and Perge. We will go to Cappadocia, the land of Fairy Chimneys, and the nation’s capital, Ankara, before returning to Istanbul where the tour ends.

    Tour Itinerary

    Arrival at Istanbul Ataturk International Airport.You will meet and transfer to your hotel. This evening, have a welcome briefing. Overnight in Istanbul
    Have a full day guided tour covering a visit to Topkapi Palace Museum, home of the Ottoman Sultans within the years 1453–1852 (excluding harem). Tour the Hippodrome, which was once the capital of life where chariot sporting and other public events took place. Tour, the Blue Mosque, constructed between 1609 and 1616, renowned for its blue ceramic tiles. Your last stop will be the outstanding Grand Bazaar, the world’s biggest and oldest covered market with over 60 streets. Optional: Dinner with belly dancing show. Overnight in Istanbul (B)
    This morning leaves for Gallipoli, the place of many battles during World War I. Visit Anzac Cove, Lone Pine Cemetery and Chunuk Bair. And then pass the Dardanelles to Canakkale to tour Troy with its popular wooden horse best recognized for being the setting of the Trojan War, proceed to Assos for overnight. (B, D)
    After breakfast leave for Pergamum. Before arriving into Asclepion, have a lunch with locals in a fabulous local village. Travel the ancient Medical Center Asclepion in Pergamum and proceed to Kusadasi for overnight. (B, L, D)
    Travel the great ruins of Ephesus, a major cultural city of the ancient world, and explore 2,000-year-old marble streets, the Library of Celsius, a theater, a gymnasium and Hadrian’s Temple. Get a short drive to see St. Mary’s stone home where it is thought Virgin Mary spent her last years with St. John. Continue to a local rug production center to have a firsthand knowledge of this unique art form. Afternoon tour through lush valleys to Pamukkale, the Cotton Fortress, with white lime waters formed by hot mineral springs. Enjoy a bath in your hotel’s thermal pool.     After breakfast tour ruins of the Roman health spa of Hierapolis and later beat to Bodrum to tour the Castle of St. Peter. And the famous Underwater Museum that given the excellent Underwater Museum of the World in the 2000s. Overnight in Bodrum (B)
    After breakfast depart to organizations of the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, which is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Afterward, leave to Marmaris. Rest of the day at relaxation, dinner and overnight in Marmaris (B, D)

    After breakfast, leave for Dalyan. Come at Dalyan village after a short trip and get a river boat to enjoy a tour to the popular mud baths with sulphur hot springs. View the Ancient Kings’ Tombs of Caunos City. Finally enjoy a relaxing swimming break at Iztuzu Beach (aka Turtle Beach), which is a real shelter and breeding place for Blue Crabs and nearly ended Loggerhead Sea Turtles (Caretta Caretta).     Early Morning Optional: A very early 4:30 AM wake up call will start your interesting optional Balloon tour floating over Cappadocia. The gentle and calm wind conditions are ideal through the first few hours of the day in the region. It is also the ideal opportunity for photography, with excellent colours and contrasts so don’t skip to bring your camera! The deep canyons and soft winds carry you over places that could never reach except by balloon. After flying over Cappadocia for about one hour, you will ground to an awaiting champagne breakfast! Those, who don't opt for the balloon trip, will get to sleep. After breakfast visit Goreme, an ancient region of Turkey placed among the fairy chimney rock structures, which was first settled back in the Roman period. Many rock churches can still be seen today as Christianity was then the controlling religion in that region. Continue to the town of Avanos renowned for its high-quality earthenware. Visit Pasabagi, once known as Monk’s Valley and Red Valley, known not only for its natural creations, but also for the various churches and homes created into the rock.     Early this morning leave to the capital city of Ankara by the salt lake area, enjoy an afternoon round of the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations. An important caravanserai, holding artefacts from up to 7500 years old, covering the greatest and important collection of Hittite artefacts in the world. Continue to Safranbolu for dinner and overnight (B, D)
    After breakfast tour, the old part of Safranbolu then continue to Istanbul. Proceed the tour to St. Sophia: a church built in the 6th-century Byzantine capital, changed to a mosque by the Ottomans, and now a museum and one of the world’s greatest architectural miracles. In the afternoon, join an Optional: Half day Bosphorus cruise enjoying the strait that parts Asia and Europe. Its shores lined with fine neighbourhoods, Ottoman palaces, fortresses, old wooden villas, hotels, parks and gardens, restaurants and cafés. Finish your last minute shopping at the Spice Market filled with the fragrance of the exotic East. Tonight enjoy a farewell dinner. Overnight in Istanbul (B, D)
