Nigde Guide

NIGDE

The small city of Nigde is originally a farm center and offers little of interest to the modern passenger. In the 13th century, though, the city flourished under the Seljuks, who built the triple-domed Alaaddin Camii and the nearby fortress. The Ak Medrese, beginning to 1409, has stone carvings and a little museum and educational center. Little ways out of town is Nigde’s most famous attraction, Eski Gümüsler Monastery.
