Dolmabahce Palace is located in the Besıktas district of Istanbul on the European coastline of the Bosphorus strait. It served as the main administrative center of the Ottoman Empire from 1856 to 1922, apart from a 22 year interval (1887-1909 )in which Yıldız Palace was used.T he construction cost five million Ottoman mecidiye gold coins, the equivalent of 35 tonnes of gold. The three-storied palace built on a symmetrical plan has 285 rooms and 43 halls.
These amazing gardens offer a nice break from the noise and rat-race of the city. Guests will witness the beauty of Yıldız Royal Garden that offer a reminder of the formidable Ottoman Empire.
Guests may be given the chance to shop at this point of the tour. Lunch will be at a local restuarant.
The walls that are surrounding the the old city are 1600 years old and you will be able to see how formidable the old city would have been during it’s prime from the remains of these great structures as you drive passed them.
Approximately 8 km long,and the widest part is the entrance from the Bosphorus. It was used as a dockyard for the Ottoman Navy with a capacity for the construction of 300 boats at one time. The tour is by bus to this are and leads to the cable car ride.
The hill was named after the Famous French author and has magnificent screnery of Golden Horn and the city which you can enjoy and marvel at from the comfort of the cable car.
After the magnificent views of Golden Horn you will board a cruise that ventures between the two continents. Area that will be seen and explained onclude one of the most expensive estate areas from times of old along the Bosphorus, passing by the Dolmabahce and Beylerbeyi Palaces, wooden villas and mansions up to the Rumeli Fortress.
The Rumeli Fortress is located on a hill on the European side of Bosphorus. It was built by the Ottoman Sultan Mehmet II between 1451-1452, before he conquered Constantinople.
One of the symbols of Istanbul, it was used as a watchtower and lighthouse in the past. At the end of the tour, guests will be transferred back to their hotel.
