Aphrodisias
Aphrodisias, the place of Aphrodite, goddess of love, is one of the largest and best-preserved archeological sites in Turkey. It's fascinating to compare this site to Ephesus, so although it's a bit of a detour, it's quite rewarding. You'll need a few hours to get an authentic taste of the site. It was home to a magnificent school of sculpture, and some surviving masterworks are on display in the Aphrodisias Museum.
