Fethiye Jeep Safari

TLOS Spectacular in the spring with snow on the mountains that stand tall behind the theatre it’s an interesting site because of the presence of the Ottoman fortress of ‘Bloody Ali’ a local brigand in addition to the Lycian and Roman remains. The Lycian structures are augmented by Byzantine buildings including the obvious remnants of a large church with fascinating mosaics hidden beneath the sandy gravel and plastic sheeting put there recently to protect them. For the really keen a circuit of the remaining city walls is possible but you’ll need some tough clothing and a good reason. The views from the top of the hill are nice.

YAKAKÖY : Visit Yakaköy trout farm and water gardens, a little corner of heaven created by man..

LUNCH :Lunch is served at a local restaurant before we walk into the spectacular Saklikent Gorge, the longest and deepest in Turkey.

SAKLIKENT : High in the mountains above Fethiye, rushing torrents of icy cold water cut a narrow gorge through the mountains over thousands of years, creating Saklikent Gorge. A natural wonder, the resulting canyon is 300 metres deep and 18 kilometers long and offers visitors one of the most breathtaking excursions in all of Turkey. Saklikent Gorge has walls reaching a height of 300 metres and is navigateable for the first 18 kilometres. Saklikent in Turkish means "Hidden City".. The walls are so high that they cut out most of the sunlight and the fresh spring waters that flow through are freezing cold!. A cool refuge on hot summer days, Saklikent Gorge is a favourite picnic spot where rustic restaurants overhanging the river serve delicious fresh trout and other local delicacies.
