Behramkale (Assos) Guide

Behramkale (Assos)

The port is a wonder, pressed against the delicate cliff walls. It's packed with small hotels that were built of volcanic rock, a flotilla of fishing boats, and a small rocky shore at each end. Behramkale Village is home to the lofty remains of ancient Assos—the Acropolis—which provide a panoramic view over the Aegean. It has bloomed in recent years and now surpasses the port area regarding prices—and perhaps in beauty as well. Now the name "Behramkale" is used for the center at the top and "Assos" for the harbor area.

Outer of June, July, August, and weekends the rest of the year, the area is less full, and prices are likely to come down a bit, particularly in the port. For more spacious and sandier beaches try Kadırga, on the way to Küçükkuyu.
